WHAT DOES THE BIBLE SAY ABOUT CHARITABLE GIVING

The Joshua Wave is a faith-based organization. That being said, The Joshua Wave team recognizes the importance of serving God’s children on the face of this earth either through charitable giving, precious time, or kick-starting some initiative that can provide value to His people. To work towards lifting up His people, The Joshua Wave started to choose a path of taking an initiative that would provide dignity to individuals by helping them become self-sustainable. Thus, the organization’s slogan says, “Serving others in the name of Jesus” because we believe in delivering value and dignity to each of God’s sons and daughters by serving them for Christ’s sake.

Since all of us are made for meaningful pursuits, each one of us is blessed with a talent meant to be invested to advance the Kingdom of God on this earth. Some of us are blessed with monetary possessions, some with wisdom, others with community serviceability, some with leadership, and so forth. The parable of talents in the Bible tells us to be faithful in our possessions, invest them and multiply them For to everyone who has will more be given, and he will have an abundance. But from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away.– Matthew 25: 29.

We all are designed to spread our generosity and goodness that reflect God’s love, goodness, generosity, and sacrifice towards us. As in Leviticus 25: 35 – 37 it is written, If your brother becomes poor and cannot maintain himself with you, you shall support him as though he were a stranger and a sojourner, and he shall live with you. Take no interest from him or profit, but fear your God, that your brother may live beside you. You shall not lend him your money at interest, nor give him your food for profit. I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt to give you the land of Canaan, and to be your God. Being God’s chosen people, we’re not expected to lend something on interest or for profit, rather we’re supposed to give away and forget because Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed. – Proverbs 19: 17.

As it is written in Proverbs 21: 13, Whoever closes his ear to the cry of the poor will himself call out and not be answered, The Joshua Wave is blessed with an empathetic ear that we heard the cries of the poor homeless individuals and were greatly moved by the need of those people, so we took an initiative to help them become self-sustainable through our Remote Freelancer Program. Now, we’re largely depending on more empathetic listeners who will collaborate with us in our mission to end homelessness across the globe through training individuals professionally and serving them in Jesus’s name. The Bible says in Luke 6: 38: Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you. We believe that God has poured the spirit of generosity in each one of us to expand our impact in this world, advance God’s kingdom on earth and present a role model to others. God promises to repay the tenfold of all that we give away to needy ones, and we being the co-heirs of His promise and kingdom are supposed to believe in His promise and make our charitable giving.

The Word of God asks us to be like Christ. In order to be like Him, as He laid down His life when we were sinners and in need of redemption, we are also supposed to give away our goods and money to redeem our needy brothers and sisters from misery. For it is written, By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers. But if anyone has the world’s goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God’s love abide in him? Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.– 1 John 3: 16-18. God has already poured His divine love into each living being, we only need to discover that love and utilize it to be the living witnesses of God.

And whoever gives one of these little ones even a cup of cold water because he is a disciple, truly, I say to you, he will by no means lose his reward. – Matthew 10: 42.  Here, the living Word of God promises to reward the one who, for the need and betterment of God’s child, contributes even a little from his possessions. The Lord doesn’t forget our deeds and generosity. He has an account of all our charitable giving, and thus the Bible pledges to give you your reward, and not only reward but that you by no means will lose it. In Isaiah 58: 10 the Lord says, And if you give yourself to the hungry And satisfy the desire of the afflicted, Then your light will rise in darkness And your gloom will become like midday. We see lots of homeless impoverished individuals around us, but the sad part is that we overlook them and keep going with our own hustle. Their hunger will not be finished just by a piece of bread, nor they’re sheltered by a camp, rather they need a permanent income stream to run their lives efficiently and to meet their needs. For this, we want you to join hands with The Joshua Wave in satisfying the desire of these afflicted individuals, so that you may be a part of advancing God’s Kingdom and become more like Christ. The Bible calls us the light of this world and therefore, this light should be made known by our generosity, love, and sacrifices toward His people.

Help The Joshua Wave through your generous support of gifts, be our partner in serving others in Jesus’s name and get your ten-folds reward from God.

Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. – Galatians 6: 2
